Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to check that the tools you will be using in this course are working correctly for you.
  1. Make sure you have a UoA network account. Your userid is your UPI (also called  NetID).
  2. Make sure you can login with your UPI from one of the computers in the MDC laboratory.
  3. If  you are not connected to the UoA intranet (local ethernet or UoA wifi) then please install VPN and start the VPN service before trying to use RDC (https://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/for/current-students/cs-current-pg/cs-current-pg-support/vpn.html).
  4. Use Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) to login to the server named tramadol.uoa.auckland.ac.nz
  5. Macintosh users can install RDC. See microsoft-remote-desktop-with-mac.pdf
  6. Use the UOA domain with your UPI e.g. UOA\nhol004
  7. After logging into tramadol open Windows Explorer in the RDC tramadol window.
  8. You may need to map drives M:, U:  and P: Please use these server paths for drive mapping 
  9. Drive M:  \\FmhsA4\Pharmacology\Research\PHM
  10. Drive U:  \\FmhsA4\Pharmacology

  11. Drive P:   \\files.auckland.ac.nz\Myhome

  12. You will need to use your UoA login credentials  UOA\<upi> and <password>. The domain prefix UOA\ is necessary before your UPI

  13. Copy the M:\My Pharmacometrics folder to your P: drive so that you have a folder P:\My Pharmacometrics
  14. Go to P:\My Pharmacometrics\Pharmacometrics Programs 
  15. Open the Berkeley Madonna program
  16. Enter the equation y=3*time in the Equations window and click on Run
  17. Click on Save and save the model with the name equation.mmd in your My Documents folder
  18. Close Berkeley Madonna
  19. Open the EditPlus program
  20. Open the Tools menu then select Set Directories and replace both directory paths with "P:\My Pharmacometrics\My Editplus"
  21. Open P:\My Pharmacometrics\Pharmacometrics Data\Population PD\theopd.ctl
  22. Check that you can see coloured keywords
  23. Close EditPlus
